Homework is important because it is useful in reinforcing lessons learned in class, helps the student to prepare for upcoming lessons, teaches responsibility, and helps to develop positive study habits. Your child will receive homework on a consistent basis Monday through Thursday. As a general rule, homework is not assigned on Friday. The average time spent on homework each night should be 30 minutes to one hour. A student planner is given to each student to track assignments and to aid in organization. All students are required to write their assignments in the planner.
Homework Policy:
When the homework is completed to the best of your child's ability, please initial the student planner nightly. Homework is part of their grade in each subject area. Each assignment is worth 3 points. If homework is not completed the day it is due, 2 points will be given and it will be completed in the work room during recess. If it is not completed at recess, students will stay in the next day and 1 point will be given.
